Started with K-Electric
Barkat Ali brought Rs 135,000 from home and secured a K-Electric contract. The first earnings came from that repair work—days still at Johnson & Phillips, nights on the K-Electric operations.

A place of our own
Those early earnings funded a workshop in Baldia, and later this facility—the floor the factory still works from.
2005
Full time on the factory
He left Johnson & Phillips in 2005 and put his full time into Trafo Engineering.
2020
Panel manufacturing begins
Electrical panel manufacturing started around 2020 with four workers on the floor.
Today
A team of about a hundred
The shop has grown to around 100 people—manufacture, repair, panels, and test from the same Karachi operation.
The factory today

In-house preparation of transformer tanks from raw fabrication through pressure testing.
Core material is prepared, cut, coiled, and stacked in dedicated production areas.
Separate LT and HT winding stations support new production and rewind work.
Drying and dehydration facilities support oil-immersed transformer production and repair.
